Oblique Strategies is is a card-based method for promoting creativity jointly created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt, first published in 1975. The card I picked was 'Think about Sections, consider transitions'. I immediately thought of the metamorphosis process and how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. I was inspired by monarch butterflies as they fly around 2,800 miles from Canada and the United States to spend the coldest months of the year in warmer lands such as Mexico. They gather in huge clusters covering trees in beautiful orange colours. If I worked longer on this project I would have looked into bringing some orange elements to my work as the monarch butterfly is most known for their striking colours. My final pieces
