ARTIST STATEMENT.

Liane Blewitt is inspired by her surroundings whether that be structures of man-made subjects, the bodies around her or   organic magnified subjects. Gathering interesting elements from recordings, Liane begins experimenting in the workshop to create conceptual but beautifully made pieces that abstractly convey her inspiration. Her favourite materials include metals, paper and plastics branching out to using colour, mostly achieved with dyeing and layering plastics to fabricate 3D objects.     Her latest collection investigates into cells and virus' playing with the idea of interaction within kinetic objects, prototyping using magnets as a connective component recreates how we acquire virus' ourselves with touch and connections.   Liane’s objective is to create contemporary pieces that have a contrasting element highlighting the quality of materials and forms while they harmonize. Her work pushes the boundaries of wear ability playing with body adornment and simplicity, her display is interactive encouraging multiple wearers tempted to touch and feel.
